Evaluations are over...NOW WHAT??
Common FAQ's after registration & evaluation:
*Who is my child's coach?
Managers will reach out soon, if they haven't already, to introduce themselves.
*Did my child get placed with their friends?
We try to honor requests if possible, but at the Minors AAA level and above, if there is more than one team, we are required to hold a draft. This means that requests are often unable to be honored because we cannot control the order in which players are selected to a team. Siblings are the only exception; we do try to place siblings on the same team if they are in the same division.
*Can we switch teams if we wanted a different Manager?
Unfortunately, no. Many of our teams are really large this year, so we do not have much wiggle room to move players. Once uniforms are ordered, the only movement between teams will be at the Player Agent's discretion, and only if there are safety concerns. Movement after uniforms are ordered cost us extra time and money.
*What gear should my child have?
Players in all divisions will need to have a glove. Cleats are a good idea for everyone, and especially recommended for Minors AAA & above. The League provides bats, helmets and catchers gear for all teams. You are welcome to purchase your own for your child if you want. Your Manager will let you know if there is any specific gear they feel is necessary for your child's division. [FYI: There is a shelving unit in the clubhouse that has free/donated gear if you would like to look through that for something that might work for your player. Please reach out to a board member if your financial situation may require some assistance with gear. We are here to help find a solution.]
*What do I need to purchase for uniforms?
The League provides hats and jerseys for all players. Your Manager will discuss uniforms for your specific division & team at their Team Meeting or first practice.
*When do practices start?
It depends on your child's Manager, but practices *CAN* start 3/3/25. Schedules will be worked out this coming weekend, after the Coaches Meeting.
*When do games start?
Games typically start after BGPS Spring Break.
*Do you still need volunteer helpers?
YES! ALWAYS!! Coaching help is always needed, especially at the Tball, Coach Pitch and PeeWee levels. Please reach out to our coaching coordinator ([email protected]) if you would like to help coach. We could also use a few Umpires, several Snack Shack volunteers, and some Team Parents. All volunteers can register through the registration portal (where you registered your child). See the "Volunteers" tab on our website for other volunteer requirements.
*Who do I contact with other questions?
You can contact any of our board members with your questions. Emails are found on our website: Board Member Emails Here!
